How to Improve your English through Writing.

“But teacher, why do we have to do a writing task? The weather is beautiful, can’t we go to the beach?” I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have heard a student ask this question, even more so with a beautiful campus situated right on the beach. But, as I said to each individual, and as I will state right now, writing is an imperative part of improving your level. In fact, it could be regarded as one of the most crucial aspects in learning how to improve your English.

As you go on your Lexis journey, you’ll explore many avenues of each of the core skills – Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. However, the temptation may be to focus on the first three rather than Writing as these are usually more engaging and active topics. Is writing an out of date skill? If so, how can you improve your English through writing?

The more you write in English the more you are putting what you are learning into practice. You may not be comfortable writing with a pen and paper, or perhaps writing on the computer is too distracting. Whatever the case may be, it is important that you write down as much as you can to see whether what you have spent many hours learning is actually going into your brain.
