Sky high city views, unleashing our inner artist in Boomerang Painting and tasting some Australian specialties
The weather in Brisbane has been nothing but sunny, hot, and wonderful lately, so we made the most of it by visiting one of the city’s most popular attractions — the Sky Deck Brisbane at The Star Brisbane. Students enjoyed incredible views of the city and the river while soaking up the beautiful weather.
Mid-week, Thursday was our Art & Crafts afternoon, where students got creative designing and painting their own boomerangs to take home as a unique Australian souvenir. It was great to see everyone’s creativity come to life with so many colourful and different designs.
To wrap up the week, we held an Australian snack tasting session. Students tried some classic Aussie favourites like Tim Tam, Shapes, and even learned how to make a proper Vegemite sandwich. As expected, Vegemite was a bit of a challenge — only a handful of brave students actually enjoyed it!
Sky Deck – The Star
We took a trip to the Sky Deck Brisbane at The Star Brisbane, where we enjoyed the spectacular panoramic views across the Brisbane River and city skyline. It was the perfect sunny afternoon to relax — some sat down with a drink and soaked up the warm sunshine while taking in the amazing views. Others took the opportunity to explore the nearby Brisbane City Markets located underneath The Star, browsing the stalls and enjoying the lively atmosphere. It was a great way to spend the afternoon together while discovering more of Brisbane.
Boomerang Painting
On a quiet Thursday afternoon, we spent time painting and designing our own boomerangs. Some students used inspiration from Aboriginal paintings or Pinterest, while others created their designs freehand. By the end of the session, everyone had a unique and colourful boomerang that showed their creativity.
Australian Snack and Food Tasting
We had an Aussie snack and food tasting session. A big thank you to our Cambridge students Margaux, Sophie, Dylan, Jess, and Emanuele for helping out during their lunch break. We tried a variety of classic Australian treats, including Tim Tams, Tiny Teddies, fairy bread, Vegemite sandwiches, party pies, and more.
Thank you to everyone who joined our Activities this week!
