This policy explains how Lexis English collects, uses and protects your personal information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, the ESOS Act 2000, the ESOS Regulations 2001 and the National Code 2018. For visitors from the European Union and United Kingdom, it also describes your rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR.
Who we are
Lexis English is a group of Australian English-language colleges operating six campuses: Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Sydney (Manly) and Perth. Each campus is operated by its own registered training provider:

Registered address for all entities: Level 22, 333 Ann Street, Brisbane, QLD 4000, Australia. In this policy, “Lexis English”, “we”, “us” and “the College” refer to these companies collectively; the company you enrol with is the entity operating your campus.
The information we collect
- Enquiries and quotes, when you use our contact or quote forms, or chat with Lexii (our website assistant), we collect the details you provide: your name, email, phone, nationality, visa type, your location (in Australia or overseas), agent details if you have one, and your study preferences (campus, course, dates, accommodation). When you chat with Lexii and save a quote, we keep a copy of that conversation with your enquiry, so our team can help you without asking you to repeat yourself. Our staff may read Lexii conversations to help you and to improve Lexii’s answers. If you don’t save a quote, we delete the conversation after 90 days. You can ask us to delete it sooner, at any time, through our website help form.
- Enrolment, when you enrol we collect the information needed to process your enrolment under Australian law, including passport and visa details, date of birth, emergency contacts, accommodation and welfare arrangements (for students under 18), and payment records.
- Parents and guardians, for students under 18, we collect the parent’s or legal guardian’s contact details and use them as the primary contact.
- Website, cookies and similar technologies, described in our Cookie Policy. We only set non-essential cookies with your consent, which you can change at any time using the cookie settings on this site.
How we use your information
The personal information you provide to us, or that is obtained about you prior to or during your period of enrolment, is regarded as confidential and is used for the purpose of processing your enrolment and providing you with the services you request: including preparing quotes and offer letters, issuing invoices and Confirmations of Enrolment (CoE), arranging accommodation, welfare and airport transfers, and supporting you during your studies. With your consent, we also send you information about our courses, campuses and offers; you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
In processing your enrolment and providing services, your information may be disclosed to relevant third parties including your family, homestay families, your education agent, further-studies institutions, the Australian Government, the Administrator of the Tuition Protection Scheme (TPS), other statutory bodies, and employees of the College as required. We are obliged to advise the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) of certain changes to a student’s enrolment and any breach of Student Visa conditions. We do not sell your personal information.
Students under 18
Student Visa students under 18 not accompanied by their parents, or not living with close family members in Australia, must have their proposed accommodation and carer arrangements approved by the College before enrolment is accepted. Welfare-related information is shared with approved carers and homestay families as needed to meet our legal obligations. If a student under 18 chats with Lexii, we keep that conversation only when a parent, guardian or agent saves the quote for them.
How long we keep it
We keep enrolment records for as long as Australian law requires (including the ESOS Act 2000, the ESOS Regulations 2001 and the National Code 2018) and keep enquiry records only as long as needed to assist you with your study plans.
Your rights
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you at any time. If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, you also have the rights provided by the GDPR / UK GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and the right to withdraw consent. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) or, for EU/UK residents, your local data-protection authority.
