Lexis Students – Skull Colouring & Nachos to celebrate the Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos in Mexico – 01.11.2024

This week at Lexis, students had the chance to learn about a unique and colorful tradition from Mexico—the Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos. The activity, called “Skull Colouring & Nachos,” was led by one of our Upper-Intermediate students from Mexico, Anaid Rabanales Damian, who shared insights about the importance of this holiday in Mexican culture. She also highlighted a Mexican festival happening in Brisbane over the weekend, organized by the local Mexican community.

Lexis Brisbane – Halloween-themed bracelet-making activity – 30.10.2024

Halloween Week at Lexis was packed with festive fun, and one of the highlights was our Halloween-themed bracelet-making activity! Guided by Teacher Oceane, students had the chance to craft their own bracelets using charms like little pumpkins, bats, ghosts, and more spooky symbols. It was the perfect activity for students to explore their creative sides, combining art with language learning.

Lexis Brisbane – Visiting Mt Coot-tha Lookout

Last Friday, after class, our Lexis students took a trip to one of Brisbane’s most scenic spots—Mt Coot-tha Lookout. The weather was perfect, giving everyone a clear, beautiful view of the city skyline, the winding Brisbane River, and the distant Moreton Bay. It was a fantastic way for students to see Brisbane from a new perspective!
