Meet our wonderful spring FCE class!
Sprite is from Taichung, located in central Taiwan, a warm and humid city. She enjoys making music, practicing yoga, and painting. Occasionally, she relaxes at the white sandy beaches. Over the next 11 weeks, she plans to perform more gigs, improve her English, and spend her free time as a DJ.
Caroline resides in northeastern Brazil, an area known for its beautiful beaches and extremely hot weather. The people there are welcoming, and they have a strong passion for dancing and singing. Caroline enjoys walking along Christmas Beach at sunset and swimming at Torakina Beach. Her goals for the next 11 weeks include studying, camping, and finding kangaroos.
Ane, originally from Gallarta, a small town in Spain, loves reading, going to the beach, hiking, and enjoying her own company. In the coming weeks, she will swim with whales and, before leaving Australia, aims to improve her English and save enough money to travel along the coast.
Manu lives in São Paulo, Brazil, a large city she doesn’t particularly enjoy due to safety concerns. However, she appreciates the wide variety of activities available there. Over the next 11 weeks, she plans to swim with whales, complete her FCE course, and make the most of the summer.
Picky resides in a small town near a brown river, just 46 minutes away from the capital. She enjoys boating on the river during weekends. In her free time, she visits her mother, spends time with her children and friends, and continues to enjoy boat trips on the river. Her plans for the next 11 weeks are to improve her English, decorate her home, and enhance her surfing skills.
Nelum lives in a small town by Lake Neuchâtel, known for its variety of restaurants and diverse cuisine. She previously worked long hours in a bank but spent weekends with friends. She now seeks to improve her English and find a more creative job, as she feels bored in her current position.
Nathan is from Campinas, the second-largest city in his state, known for being a major coffee producer and once hosting the second King of Brazil. Nathan enjoys spending time with his friends, playing football, and listening to music. In his final months in Australia, he plans to work and fully enjoy his experience.
Nicole, from Arica, Chile, lives just 20 minutes from the ocean in a small town where everyone knows each other. When she visits, she enjoys seeing her grandparents, spending time with her pets, and catching up with friends. Over the next 11 weeks, she plans to enjoy time with her boyfriend and save money to travel around Australia.
Erika is from Tateyama, a smaller city in Chiba, Japan, famous for its beach and renowned seafood dish, Kaisendon. In her free time, she enjoys surfing and stand-up paddling, along with drawing. Her main goal in the coming weeks is to visit Brixton and successfully pass the FCE exam.
Lisha lives in the Zurich countryside, near lakes where she enjoys stand-up paddling. She also loves camping, skiing, and hiking. Her parents encouraged her to learn skiing after snowboarding, as it is safer. Over the next few months, she hopes to go whale watching, surf more, and visit Melbourne.
Tatiana was born in São Paulo, Brazil, the country’s largest city with over 11 million residents. Though it is a hub for work, it is also quite expensive. After the pandemic, she relocated to a smaller, more relaxed area. In the next 11 weeks, her goals are to travel to Asia and Indonesia, surf, explore the Great Barrier Reef, learn about Indigenous Australian culture, and, of course, improve her English.
