Byron Bay – A warm welcome to our new students – 19 September 2022

 

 

Today we are thrilled to welcome our new students from Japan, Korea, Spain and Switzerland.

Shiho joins us from Japan. In Japan, Shiho is a university student and juggles two part-time jobs as an after-school teacher and gym staff member. Her goal at Lexis is to speak English confidently and make friends. Shiho chose to study English in Byron Bay because she loves the beach, she comes from a similar town in Japan and because Australians have a reputation for being kind.

 

 

 

Sol comes from Korea. In Korea, Sol studies Theology and wants to additionally study English when she returns. Sol chose Byron Bay because she loves animals and nature, and hopes to see Koalas, Kangaroos and Quokkas in the wild. While in Australia Sol wants to learn English, immerse herself in Australian culture and build positive relationships.

 

 

 

Julie joins us from the French part of Switzerland. In June, Julie graduated from college after four years of hard work. Julie visited Australia three years ago and found Australian people very kind and the country beautiful. Julie’s goal is to be able to write songs in English and her dream career is to become an artist.

 

 

 

Mina comes from Japan. In Japan, Mina studied economics at university. Mina decided to study English in Australia because it is a multicultural country. She has a desire to travel and learn about different cultures and customs.

 

 

 

Ryoka joins us from Osaka, Japan. Ryoka loves going to the beach and snorkelling in summer. Ryoka chose Byron Bay because she wants to experience a different culture. Her goal is to learn, make friends and get a barista job.

 

 

 

Inhye joins us from Korea. In Korea, Inhye studies Genetic Engineering at university and is required to know English for her studies. She chose to learn English in Australia because of the great weather. On returning to Korea, Inhye will continue to study Genetic Engineering at masters level.

 

 

 

Oscar comes from Spain. Oscar is a professional rower and has won gold and silver medals at world championships. He also holds a masters degree in Sport Science and High-Performance Sports and works as a Physiotherapist. Oscar chose to study and live in Australia because of the way of life and hopes to gain permanent residence.
