On Friday, our students had the delightful opportunity to partake in a quintessential Australian lunchtime experience, a Sausage Sizzle!
This enjoyable affair was orchestrated by our Aussie teacher, Paul, who also happens to be a former professional chef. Exploring new customs and idioms is an integral part of learning a foreign language, and for many of our students, “Sausage Sizzle” was an exciting and unfamiliar term.
To accommodate the dietary preferences of our vegan staff and students, we made sure to offer vegan sausages alongside the traditional ones. The students were given the choice between white or multigrain bread, as well as Tomato, Mustard, or BBQ sauce to complement their sausages. Of course, a genuine sausage sizzle wouldn’t be complete without the addition of grilled onions, which filled the air with a tantalizing aroma and added to the overall ambience.
The students thoroughly enjoyed our fantastic Aussie tradition and eagerly anticipate our next sausage sizzle.
