A Warm Welcome To Our New Students

Mariana joins us from Brazil. Travelling to Australia has been Mariana’s dream and now it is a reality! In Brazil, Mariana is in her second year of journalism school, and she is studying English at Lexis to improve her journalism career prospects.

Sarah joins us from the French part of Switzerland. Sarah is completing our English and Surfing program which involves part-time General English with surfing lessons. Sarah is taking a gap year to discover new places and meet new people before starting university. She decided to come to Australia to be as far away from her family, friends and country, to grow as a person and get out of her comfort zone.

Fersen comes from France. Fersen is also completing our English and Surfing program which involves part-time General English with surfing lessons. He wants to learn English because it is the language of the world and opens up a world of opportunity.

Teresa joins us from Mallorca, Spain with her friend Estela. In Spain, Teresa has completed a degree in protocol and event management. Her decision to come to Australia was twofold. First, she wanted to study English and increase her fluency to be an excellent wedding planner for international clients. Second, Australia is her dream destination, she can’t wait to explore Byron and travel around the country.

Estela also studied protocol and event management and wants to improve her English to improve her job prospects. She looks forward to exploring Australia and enjoying the stunning nature and landscapes. Estela loves travelling and, in the future, wants to travel to more destinations around the world.

Paula joins us from Spain. After completing her studies in Spain, Paula worked in Mexico and then France. She now speaks Spanish and French confidently and the next language she wants to master is English!

Ben joins us from Thailand. Ben is a gamer and makes money selling in-game items. While at Lexis he wants to speak out and become a more confident English speaker.

Hara joins us from Japan. Hara will start work as a consultant next month. He wants to improve his English to communicate with people from around the world. He is excited to complete lots of surf lessons while in Byron. His hobbies include swimming and snowboarding, so he has great transferrable skills for surfing!

Hikari also joins us from Japan. Hikari decided to study English in Australia because she grew up watching Australian TV and thought Australia is beautiful! Additionally, her agent told her about the stunning nature, lifestyle and kind people in Australia. At Lexis, she will study hard, specifically to improve her English grammar.

Mihoko also joins us from Japan. Mihoko is a musician, and her main instrument is the clarinet. She decided to study in Australia because of the beautiful scenery. She is enthusiastic about learning English so that she can communicate better with people from around the world.

Yumi also comes from Japan. In Japan, Yumi completed a degree in society and social media. Yumi is in Australia to learn English and hopes to work at a farm or coffee shop during her year here.
