This week we welcome 9 New Starters to our Byron Bay campus.
Hernan is from Chile. He is a dentist and radiologist and loves his job. He works in a public hospital and has his own x-ray business. He also enjoys playing soccer and landscape photography. He would like to study English in Australia and take advantage of his sabbatical and improve his general English. He would love to travel around the world and believes it’s necessary to speak English.
Nuria is from Spain. She works as a pharmacist in a little town called L’Estartit. She loves her town but wanted to have a break, disconnect, and meet new people. Nuria has not spoken English in 6 years and would like to improve this while in Byron. She has two friends from university that live in Byron which is what encouraged her to come here. She loves to play the guitar and loves all the music on the streets of Byron.
Lukas is from Switzerland. He is in Byron for 5 weeks and after his studies he will go camping with his girlfriend. When he returns to Switzerland he would like to study to be a construction manager. In his spare time he enjoys biking, snowboarding, and many other sports and while he’s here he would like to learn surfing.
Umberto is from Italy. He lives in a region called Calabria in southern Italy with his family. He enjoys reading live news, watching films and TV, and learning as much as he can about different cultures. His biggest passion is fishing which he could do for days without stopping. He has been living in Melbourne and Port Douglas before finding his way to Byron Bay to improve his English at Lexis.
Rafael is from Spain. He works as a seller in the financial service department for BMW Bank. It is very important for his job to be able to speak English and decided to come to Australia to improve. He likes hiking, soccer, and playing board games with his friends. He also coaches soccer to kids from 10 to 18 years old.
Raimundo is from Chile. He is 16 years old and lives in a small town called Talca south of Santiago. His favourite thing to do is dance. He practices urban dance, like hip-hop, new style, and raggaeton. He studies in a catholic high school and this is his last year of study. He came to Australia to study English because he thinks it’s the most important language and would love to improve.
Marcarena is from Spain. She has a twin called Juan and a dog called Pitu and she loves to spend time with her family. She has just finished her studies as a pharmacist and wanted to take a break, enjoy the Aussie life, and improve her English before starting work. She doesn’t have one specific hobby but she does love to spend time with her friends or go walking the mountains. while in Australia she would love to learn more about the culture and travel the east coast.
Margaux is from Belgium. She wanted to come to Australia to study English because it is so different to where she lives. She is hoping to become a wildlife veterinarian in the future and thinking Australia would be a great place to work because of the diversity. After she finishes her English studies in Byron she will return home to Belgium to start her University degree.
Maria is from Chile. She has transferred from Lexis Brisbane and we are happy she is joining our IELTS class.
