Noosa – Fun Easter Activities – 22nd April

Last week our activities were all about Easter at Lexis Noosa!

For our students, it’s important to unwind during a week of English learning and our activity programme is the best way to do so. Every week, we do activities together on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to showcase the best of what life in Noosa is like. Our activities range from arts and crafts to watersports and from karaoke to yoga, with a whole load of Aussie culture thrown in there too. Here’s a glimpse of what activities we got up to last week:

Wednesday’s Activity – Easter Baking!

After classes on Wednesday, our students had a deliciously fun afternoon baking Easter treats! The student kitchen was filled with the sweet smell of chocolate as everyone got hands-on making a trio of festive goodies.

First up were the Rice Krispie nests – crunchy, chocolatey, and topped with a chocolate egg. Next, the group baked Smarties cookies, with bright bursts of colour and that perfect chewy texture. Finally, a rich, chocolatey Rocky Road, filled with marshmallows and biscuits!

It was a fantastic way to relax after a busy week of studying, practice English in a fun and relaxed setting and share a few laughs. We put the treats in the fridge overnight ahead of Thursday’s big Easter picnic.

Thursday’s Activity – Easter Picnic and Easter Egg Hunt!

After class on Thursday, we met in the courtyard to enjoy an Easter feast made up of hot dogs, snacks and the sweet treats we had prepared the day before. Under the sunny blue skies, there was a great atmosphere ahead of the 4 day weekend.
After eating, it was time for the main event – the Easter egg hunt! The students split into 5 teams, each with a colour and off they went on a scavenger hunt around the school. They were given a series of clues that lead them to different areas, from classrooms to the kitchen, to the ping pong table to the courtyard to the office. They had to use their English skills to decipher the riddle and work out the location of the next egg. Whilst searching for the clues, chocolate was hidden all over the school! The final clue returned them to the courtyard where a prize was waiting, a huge basket of chocolate for them to enjoy!

It was great fun and allowed the students to apply their language skills in a different way outside of the classroom. Hopefully everyone was fully stocked up with chocolate for the Easter weekend as well!
