Adele comes from Belgium! She is 18 years old, and she is into badminton. She is rarely home because she loves to hang out with friends and spend time outdoors. She is currently in a gap year and is eager to explore Australia and improve her English skills. Welcome Adele!

Kairi comes from Japan! He loves scuba diving, and he is currently studying history of the UK at university. He will stay in Byron Bay for 8 months and is looking forward to improving his English skills and enjoy the Australian lifestyle. Welcome Kai!

Alejandro comes from Chile! He is 40 years old, and he works as a lawyer for the Chilean government. He is taking a break from his job and will stay in Australia for 9 months. He loves to surf and is excited to experience the Australian lifestyle. Welcome Alejandro!

Eugenio comes from Chile! He is 18 years old, and he is into horse riding and mountain bike. He would like to become a pilot int he future and that is why he decided to come to Australia to improve his English skills. Welcome Eugenio!

Timea comes from Switzerland! She is 19 years old and lives with her family in a town called Wimmis. In her free time, she likes to read, swim and go hiking. She studied to be a nurse and worked at a retirement home. She decided to come to Australia because she would like to be more confident while talking to people from other countries. Welcome Timea!

Vanessa comes from Switzerland! She is 24 years old, and she works as a medical assistant at a family doctor. She likes doing sports, going to the gym and stand-up paddle boarding at the lake. She wants to improve her grammar skills while she is studying at Lexis. Welcome Vanessa!

Serina comes from Japan! She is 30 years old, and she enjoys swimming in the ocean because she can see fishes and coral reefs. She is eager to learn and improve her English skills because she would like to be able to talk to her host family and friends from around the world. Welcome Serina!

Ayana comes from Japan! She is 29 years old and lives in a prefecture called Aichi. She needs good English skills for her job and that is why she decided to come to study in Australia. But this is not the first time in the country. She first went to Melbourne as a junior, then went to Brisbane to study business English, and now in Byron Bay! Welcome Ayana!

Pascale comes from Switzerland! She is 21 years old. She decided to come to Australia because she would like to improve her English skills, and she thinks it’s better to do it in an English-speaking country. She likes Australia’s hot and sunny weather. Her hobby is parkour; she practices at a park every Tuesday. Welcome Pascale!

Vincent comes from China! He is 18 years old and likes to play sports like basketball and football. He wants to improve his English skills and is excited to start his learning journey at lexis. Welcome Vincent!

Adria comes from Spain! He is 22 years old, and he lives in Barcelona. He is into climbing and practices as much as he can. He is studying to be a firefighter, but now he is on a break. He decided to come to Australia so he can improve his English skills and create new experiences away from home. Welcome Adria!

Tommaso comes from Italy! He chose to come to Australia because he wants to study a master’s degree in marketing and needs to achieve a B2 level. He loves reading adventure books and watching crime TV series. He is passionate about surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding. After studying here for 3 weeks he will go to Adelaide to visit some family members. Welcome Tommaso!

The day started early with everyone gathering to take their placement tests. This helped us asses their English levels, making sure they are in the right class to get the most out of their time here.

After the tests, the students joined Rita for an orientation session where she gave them all the information, they need about the school and what’s ahead. They also got to meet Luke from Let’s Go Surfing and Chiara from Dundee. Luke shared some cool tips about the local surf scene, and Chiara talked about weekend trips and activities around Byron Bay. It was a great way to set the tone for an exciting and diverse adventure.

Next, the students joined their new classmates for the last hour of the morning class. It was a great way to ease into things and get a feel for the learning vibe here at Lexis. Then it was lunchtime—the perfect chance to chill out, grab some food, and start making new friends.

After a busy morning of placement tests, orientation, and a taste of the classroom environment, the students did an afternoon walk and talk with Rita. We saw some fruit bats on the way and also stopped at the Australian aboriginal art shop and were lucky enough to witness the shopkeeper play the didgeridoo.
