Exploring Byron Bay: Arakwal National Park Walk
Arakwal National Park, located just south of Byron Bay in New South Wales, Australia, is a sanctuary of natural beauty and cultural significance. Established in 2001 through a historic Indigenous Land Use Agreement between the NSW Government and the Arakwal people, the park is co-managed by the New South Wales National Parks & Wildlife Service and the Bundjalung of Byron Bay (Arakwal) people .
Last week, students from Lexis Byron Bay enjoyed a refreshing walk through the stunning Arakwal National Park. The sun was shining, the skies were clear, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for a day outdoors.
As they followed the walking trails, students had the chance to take in the natural beauty of the area — from lush greenery to the sound of birdsong in the trees. The walk was not only a great way to stay active, but also an opportunity to relax, connect with nature, and spend time with classmates in a beautiful setting.
Everyone had a fantastic time, making the most of the sunshine and the peaceful surroundings. It was a lovely reminder of how lucky we are to have such amazing natural spaces right on our doorstep here in Byron Bay.
Looking forward to more outdoor adventures soon!
Meaning of “Arakwal”
