Swinging into Fun: Lexis English Students Take On Mini Golf
Clouds, Clubs, and Competitive Spirit
On a slightly overcast afternoon on 26 March, our amazing students from Lexis English Brisbane gathered for what turned out to be one of the most fun-filled and laugh-out-loud afternoons of the month—Minigolf at Hey Caddy South Bank!
The day may have started with a few clouds in the sky, but not even the threat of rain could dampen our spirits. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just going to be an ordinary outing. Armed with colourful golf clubs and bright smiles, our students were ready to tee off into a whirlwind of fun, friendly competition, and fantastic memories.
Hey Caddy, with its imaginative courses and cool vibe, proved to be the perfect setting. It was a great mix of funky décor, clever course designs, and just the right amount of challenge—enough to bring out everyone’s inner champion!
Game On: Let the Mini Golf Madness Begin!
As the games kicked off, students grouped into small teams, cheered each other on, and took turns showing off their putting skills—or in some cases, just trying to avoid sending the ball flying off the course entirely! The friendly banter, jokes, and playful competition made it impossible not to have a good time.
Some students approached each hole with laser focus, others with wild (and hilarious) swings, but all with huge smiles and positive vibes. It wasn’t long before the lounge filled with laughter echoing through the course. Each twist and turn of the game brought new surprises and funny moments—from “hole-in-one” celebrations to the occasional creative detour that ended in giggles.
The best part? You didn’t have to be a golf pro to enjoy the fun. Everyone cheered for each other’s shots, no matter how far off the mark, and even those who claimed they’d never played before were showing off impressive skills by the end.
More Than Just a Game: Connection and Conversation
As always at Lexis, our events are about more than just the activity—they’re about community, connection, and practicing English in the real world. Throughout the afternoon, students chatted, joked, and got to know one another better. The shared experience of the game naturally brought people together, breaking down language barriers and creating new friendships.
By the time the final holes were completed, everyone was walking off the course a little tired, a lot happier, and with new friends by their side.
