Yesterday at Lexis Byron Bay, we dove into the world of baking and whipped up some delicious choc-chip cookies!
We followed a recipe that required no chilling- so we could enjoy our cookies as soon as possible!
The students Worked together, following the recipe and adjusting if it was needed.
We started by mixing the dry ingredients: flour, white sugar, brown sugar, baking powder and salt
In a separate bowl we melted our butter, cracked the egg and added in the vanilla extract.
Whilst some students were mixing the dough, others chopped the chocolate into chunks.
We then combined it all together, and added a little more flour to make it a perfect cookie dough consistency
Then we rolled them into balls and placed them onto our baking sheet and into the oven!
We had quite a few leftover ingredients, so we came up with the idea to make cookie bars. cookie bars use all the same ingredients as cookies, but are baked in a tin like brownies.
Our cookies were delicious! we enjoyed them together outside, discussing how we should open a bakery!
