Celebrating International Coffee Day with Exceptional Espresso Martinis!
The exceptional Espresso Martini activity at Lexis English Noosa to celebrate International Coffee Day was a delightful and educational experience for the students. It combined the art of mixology with coffee appreciation, creating a memorable and engaging event.
The activity began with a hands-on tutorial on how to prepare the perfect Espresso Martini. Students gathered around a well-equipped bar setup, complete with all the necessary ingredients and tools. Students brew a rich and aromatic espresso shot, select high-quality coffee liqueurs and vodka, and expertly mix them to create a delicious and visually appealing Espresso Martini.
Here’s the recipe they were following:
Ingredients
15mL coffee liqueur
45mL vodka
15mL sugar syrup
30mL espresso coffee
Ice
3 coffee beans to garnish
Method
Pour coffee liqueur, vodka, sugar syrup, espresso coffee and ice into a cocktail shaker.
Shake all ingredients and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with 3 coffee beans.
As the students prepared their own Espresso Martinis, they had the opportunity to appreciate the art of cocktail making and the nuances of balancing flavors.
To enhance the educational aspect of the event, there was also a coffee knowledge quiz. Students were tested on their understanding of coffee history, different brewing methods, coffee bean varieties, and coffee-related trivia. This quiz added an element of fun competition and encouraged participants to expand their coffee knowledge.
