Classy Cocktails & Masterful Mocktails
Lexis Noosa unwinds on a Friday with some cocktails and mocktails

After classes on Friday our students attended a cocktail and mocktail making masterclass in which they could practice making and sampling a selection of delicious cocktails and mocktails.
Some students in attendance have had hands on experience from working in hospitality before and some have been able to gain some valuable practice through our Bar & Cocktail Course at The Culinary Academy. However, for many students this was a brand new experience and they were able to learn some cocktail recipes to take forward with them and wow their friends and family.

The cocktails on offer were a Dark & Stormy, Margarita, Espresso Martini, Strawberry Tom Collins and a Japanese Slipper, which despite the name was invented in a bar in Melbourne!
Our mocktails menu consisted of non-alcoholic Pina Coladas, a virgin tequila sunrise, a non-alcoholic espresso martini and a cranberry “no-jito”.

Mael here was vigorously shaking a margarita for himself and Daeva.

Whilst trying the cocktails/mocktails, the students were mingling and chatting, putting their new English skills into practice.

Angela wasn’t much of a fan of the non-alcoholic Pina Colada she was making here.

Edwardus, Fabian, Marc, Marius, Cecile and Jane all enjoyed the Japanese Slipper, which is a cocktail that tastes much better than its luminous green colour suggests it would!

Fiona has previously had experience behind the bar and was excellent at making cocktails and teaching the others.

It took some practice and some of the cocktails weren’t quite up to industry standard but soon enough, everyone had mastered the recipes.
