Lexis Brisbane – Saint Patrick’s Day Celebrations – 15.03.2024

Ah, Saint Patrick’s Day – a day synonymous with shamrocks, leprechauns, and, of course, vibrant green cocktails! At Lexis English Brisbane, we decided to celebrate this jovial occasion in style. As the week of intensive study came to a close, our students eagerly gathered to indulge in a bit of mixology magic, culminating in a delightful cocktail-making session. With green as our colour theme and a dash of creativity, we whipped up two tantalising concoctions that left everyone feeling merry and bright.

First up on the menu was the enchanting “Leprechaun’s Kiss.” Picture this: a blend of zesty orange juice, the captivating hue of blue curaçao, a splash of lemonade, a generous measure of vodka, and to top it off, a whimsical rainbow-coloured sour strap garnish. It was like sipping on a pot of liquid gold! As the recipe was unveiled, students meticulously followed instructions, seeking clarification when needed. Working in teams, they took turns measuring out each ingredient, skillfully mixing them together to craft their own magical elixirs. The laughter and camaraderie filled the room as they bonded over their shared love for experimentation and exploration of flavours.

But fear not, for those with a preference for a sweeter, alcohol-free option, we had the delightful “Lime Spider” mocktail waiting in the wings. A refreshing blend of tangy lime cordial, fizzy lemonade, and velvety vanilla ice cream – a treat for the taste buds and a perfect alternative for those abstaining from alcohol. It was a hit among our students, offering a deliciously indulgent experience without the buzz.

As the evening unfolded, students embraced the opportunity to sample both beverages, eagerly tweaking proportions to suit their individual palates. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as they shared tips and tricks, each sip sparking conversations and forging new friendships. It was more than just a cocktail-making activity; it was a celebration of diversity, friendship, and the joy of shared experiences.
