A Month of Creativity, Connection and Cool Treats| Lexis Brisbane | February Activities Recap

February was filled with creativity, laughter, and cultural experiences at Lexis English Brisbane! Our students not only improved their English skills but also had the chance to express themselves artistically, celebrate friendships, and embrace Australian traditions. Let’s take a look back at some of the highlights from this month’s Thursday Fun activities!

Sip & Paint – A Creative Trip Down Memory Lane (Feb 6)

We kicked off the month with a Sip & Paint session, where students were encouraged to paint something that reminded them of home. It was amazing to see the blend of cultural influences and personal stories come to life on canvas! Now that we all live in Australia, it was heartwarming to share memories while discovering some hidden artistic talents in our group.

Valentine’s Day Pop-Up Cards – Handmade with Love (Feb 13)

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we couldn’t miss the chance to get crafty! Students learned how to create pop-up Valentine’s Day cards, using fun techniques to impress their loved ones. From heartfelt messages to intricate designs, everyone put in a lot of effort, making this activity both meaningful and enjoyable.

Boomerang Painting – A Touch of Aussie Culture (Feb 20)

Boomerangs are one of the most iconic Australian souvenirs, and in this session, we got to paint our own! While these ones were just for fun, we also learned that traditional boomerangs are designed to return when thrown correctly. Our students once again showed off their artistic talents, creating some stunning designs that they could take home as a memory of their time in Australia.

Ice Cream & Aussie Slang Trivia – A Sweet Summer Send-Off! (Feb 27)

To wrap up the month and say goodbye to summer in Brisbane, we enjoyed free ice cream cones—the perfect way to cool down in the Aussie heat! But before indulging, we tested our knowledge with a fun Aussie Slang Trivia. Students learned some classic Australian phrases like:

✅ Maccas = McDonald’s
✅ Brekky = Breakfast
✅ Thongs = Sandals

It was a great way to laugh, learn, and celebrate our time together!
