Mother’s Day is a special occasion globally, celebrating the incredible love and devotion of mothers everywhere. At Lexis English, we decided to mark this beautiful day with a delightful activity that brought students together in a creative and heartwarming way. Our cookie decorating event was a hit among the students, with a large group enthusiastically joining in the decorating delights.
The activity was simple yet full of joy. Each student was given a variety of cookies to decorate—some shaped like hearts, others like flowers, and of course, classic circles. Armed with an array of toppings, from colored fondant icing to homemade icing in their chosen hues, the students dove into the artistic process. Sprinkles and writing icing added the final touches, making each cookie a unique masterpiece.
The creativity of our students never fails to amaze us. Some crafted intricate floral designs, while others went for adorable faces or characters. There were those who wrote heartfelt messages or names, and some opted for abstract artistry, all with the common thread of gratitude and love for their mothers or host mothers in Australia.
It wasn’t just about decorating cookies; it was about expressing appreciation. Many students took pictures of their finished creations and sent them as tokens of thanks to their mothers, acknowledging the hard work and selfless love they receive every day. It was a small gesture with immense meaning, bridging distances and expressing heartfelt emotions.
