Even if it rained, all our students had a lot of fun at our Sausage Sizzle !
Student Services Coordinator Nicole went to the shops in the morning to buy bread, onions, condiments and of course the sausages. We even had vegan sausages for the students who don’t eat meat!
But what is a Sausage Sizzle?
The name “Sausage Sizzle” was first used in the 1980s, and can describe either the food (sausage and onion wrapped in sliced bread and served with sauce) or the event (usually a community event or fundraiser).
Fundraising Sausage Sizzles have become particularly associated with elections in Australia and the hardware chain Bunnings Warehouse.
Today, Nicole chopped the onions and teacher Paul manned the BBQ.
The students gathered at the front of school at lunchtime to experience this Aussie tradition for themselves.
Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great time!
Happy Friday everyone, enjoy the weekend!
