A Fun Paint & Sip at Lexis Sydney – Manly Beach: Creativity, Connection & A Whole Lot of Fun!
At Lexis Sydney – Manly, creativity and community are at the heart of everything we do and our art workshops are the perfect blend of both! These hands-on sessions have quickly become a highlight for our students, who love coming together to explore different styles, learn new techniques, and express themselves through art. This week, we added a playful twist to our much-loved Paint & Sip activity: Students were challenged to paint portraits of each other!
For those unfamiliar, a Paint & Sip is a laid-back social activity that combines painting with sipping on your drink of choice – wine or a soft drink. It is a popular activity for our students as it provides a fun and casual environment for artistic expression and social interaction. This time, instead of painting a landscape or still life, our students became both the artists and the inspiration. Paired up with a partner, they set to work capturing each other’s faces on canvas – with varying degrees of realism, flair, and humour!
Laughter filled the room as students swapped glances between their partner and their painting, often surprised by their hidden talents – or hilariously abstract creations. From focused brushwork to spontaneous giggles, the session struck the perfect balance between art and amusement.
The vibe was warm and welcoming, with plenty of shared tips, chats, and cheerful encouragement. As portraits took shape, so did new friendships, with students bonding over their artistic masterpieces and memorable moments.Our Paint & Sip session wasn’t just about painting, it was about trying something new, stepping outside comfort zones, and making meaningful connections in a creative and fun space. We’re already looking forward to the next one, because at Lexis there’s always something fun on the horizon!
