Wednesday : Art Tour at AGWA
On Wednesday, our students stepped into the vibrant world of Australian art with a visit to the Art Gallery of WA [AGWA], located right in the heart of Perth’s Cultural Centre. As they admired contemporary and Indigenous artworks, students shared their thoughts and favorite pieces all in English!
From abstract installations to traditional paintings, the gallery sparked conversation, creativity, and cultural curiosity. It was more than just an art outing—it was a chance for students to connect with Australian culture and practice language skills in a relaxed, real-world setting.
Friday : Aussie style BBQ
By Friday, our students were looking forward to a traditional Aussie style BBQ, but the weather had other ideas! Rain rolled in, so we moved the fun indoors—and kept things simple and authentic with a good old-fashioned sausage sizzle.
Armed with slices of fresh bread, sausages, and a variety of sauces, we embraced this much-loved Aussie tradition. For many students, it was their first time trying this humble but iconic snack—and they loved it! With music playing and conversations flowing in English, it was the perfect end to the week.
