On Monday, we welcomed our Japanese junior group, joining us from Hiroshima! Their first afternoon was spent exploring Byron Bay’s most iconic landmark, the lighthouse!
We started at the top of the lighthouse, taking plenty of photos of the breathtaking view. Students were amazed when they had the opportunity to see whales swimming past, splashing their tails and breaching.
The Byron Bay lighthouse is an iconic piece of Byron Bay history. It stands on the most easterly point of Australian Mainland, and is the most powerful lighthouse in the country!
After many photos and laughs, we began the descent down back to town.
The Lighthouse walk follows along the coast, so students were surrounded by nature and beauty their whole walk.
We then made it into town, we saw popular skate parks and playgrounds, as well as places to shop and eat.
It was an excellent first activity for our junior students, they loved experiencing the lighthouse walk!
