Today was both a sad and happy day as classes finished for the Christmas break and two of our remaining four students graduated from school.
We say ‘see you later’ to both Rin and Akira, who will come back to Lexis in 2022 to continue their studies but ‘goodbye’ to Valentino and Zaira, who have completed their enrolments.
Both Valentino and Zaira have been an absolute joy to teach. They are both so enthusiastic about the topics and keen to participate in discussions and games, and they both graduate with a grade A at Intermediate level. Valentino is really fluent in communication and always has lots of great questions, ideas and opinions to add to discussions. Meanwhile Zaira has a real zest for learning and always asks really good language related questions. Although Zaira was not always as punctual as she could have been and Valentino lost focus easily, they were both really appreciated by their teachers and classmates alike for the energy and laughter they brought to class.
As it was our last day together today, we did an activity where we stuck a piece of paper on each other’s backs and then went around and wrote on all the papers, telling each other what we liked most about them and thanking them for their contribution. It was a lot of fun and everyone said such nice things.
We’re now taking an extended Christmas holiday but really look forward to welcoming Rin and Akira back in the New Year, hopefully with lots of new international students!
