A Sausage Sizzle is an Australian tradition. Do you know what it is?
Well, the name “Sausage Sizzle” was first used in the 1980s, and can describe either the food (sausage and onion wrapped in sliced bread and served with sauce) or the event (usually a community event or fundraiser).
Fundraising Sausage Sizzles have become particularly associated with elections in Australia and the hardware chain Bunnings Warehouse.
Today, Campus Manager Lisa chopped the onions and teacher Paul manned the BBQ (with some help from teacher Anji). Then the students gathered at the front of school at lunchtime to experience this Aussie tradition for themselves.
