On Wednesday students spent the afternoon doing a quintessentially Byron Bay activity, bodyboarding at Byron Bay’s iconic Main Beach.

Instructors from Lets Go Surfing, Byron Bay’s longest running surf school, met students after class and everyone walked from the Lexis campus to Main Beach. We are only a 15 minute walk to Byron’s Main Beach!

Lets Go Surfing provided students with wetsuits and bodyboards and were prepared with gear for beach soccer.

Students were split into two groups that rotated between bodyboarding and playing beach soccer.

Some students came down just to watch the bodyboarding and beach soccer from the sidelines.

Combining language learning with sports has been found to increase language test results and test response times (Liu et al., 2017). Exercise improves your memory, sharpens your focus and produces endorphins, chemicals that induce the infamous post-workout euphoria.

Students had a wonderful afternoon together and are eager for more beach activities.
