Last week was an Action Packed Week of Fun Activities at Lexis Noosa!
For our students, it’s important to unwind during a week of English learning and our activity programme is the best way to do so. Every week, we do activities together on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to showcase the best of what life in Noosa is like. Our activities range from arts and crafts to watersports and from karaoke to yoga, with a whole load of Aussie culture thrown in there too. Here’s a glimpse of what activities we got up to last week:
Wednesday’s Activity – Sushi Making!
On Wednesday, our students saved their appetite for after lunch to have a go at making their very own sushi! We had a go at making sushi rolls that contained salmon, tuna, crab sticks and avocado! Some of our students are well practiced at making their own sushi, but for others, it was their first time and it was great to see the sushi-veterans help out the beginners. We ate, chatted and laughed the afternoon away enjoying each others company!
Thursday’s Activity – National Park Walk!
From July to November, you can see humpback whales migrating up the coast of Australia and you can see them from the Noosa National Park. After class on Thursday, with the sun blazing we trekked through the park hoping to spy some of Australia’s wildlife for ourselves. We were lucky enough to see turtles bobbing around in the swell as well as schools of dolphins hugging the cliff’s edge. For many students, it’s a dream to see the wildlife and we’re very lucky to have it on our doorstep here in Noosa!
Friday’s Activity – Tote Bag Painting!
We got creative after class on Friday and decorated our very own totebags to take home as keepsakes to remember our time in Noosa. Some opted to paint their favourite characters, some went for funky designs and many chose to paint Noosa themed designs. The skill and creativity on show was inspiring and everyone ended up with an amazing memory of their time at Lexis. It was a popular activity and one we’ll definitely be doing again!
Of course, we rounded off the week with a trip to happy hour at The Culinary Academy too!
