Easter Joy at the Heart of Brisbane

Picnic At The Botanical Gardens

At Lexis English Brisbane, we believe that learning English is more than just classroom lessons—it’s about living the language, making connections, and embracing life in Australia. That’s why, on 17 April, we invited our students to celebrate the Easter season the Aussie way—with an unforgettable afternoon picnic in the stunning Brisbane City Botanic Gardens. Surrounded by lush greenery, city skylines, and good vibes, our Easter Picnic was the perfect way to enjoy the sunshine, share stories, and build lifelong friendships.

A Picnic Full of Flavour and Fun

The event kicked off with a spread of delicious snacks, fresh fruits, and refreshing drinks. Students gathered in cozy little circles, sharing food and swapping funny stories from their countries and classroom experiences. It was heartwarming to see how laughter and conversation flowed freely—English was the common thread, but friendship was the real language of the day.

As music played softly in the background, everyone began to relax, chat, and enjoy the beautiful autumn weather. Some students even took the opportunity to practise their English by introducing themselves to new faces and learning slang or idioms from their peers and teachers.

Games, Giggles, and Good Times

Of course, what’s a picnic without a bit of active fun? Once the snacks had been polished off, the group moved to an open area of the gardens to enjoy some friendly competition. A spontaneous frisbee match quickly drew in players of all skill levels, followed by a cheerful game of catch-the-ball and a mini soccer match that brought out everyone’s team spirit.

There were bursts of laughter, lots of playful shouts in English, and plenty of clapping and cheering. It didn’t matter who won or lost—what mattered was the energy, the connection, and the joy of simply being together in such a vibrant setting.

Building Bridges and Lifelong Memories

At Lexis English, we know that language learning happens best when students feel included, inspired, and part of something bigger. Events like this Easter Picnic aren’t just about relaxing or having a good time—they’re about creating real, meaningful experiences. By sharing stories, playing games, and celebrating a holiday that may be new to some, our students embraced Australian culture and built bridges between diverse backgrounds.

The afternoon wrapped up with group photos, hugs, and promises to meet again at the next event. Many students left with not just new vocabulary, but new friends from around the world.
