Last week was an Action Packed Week of Fun Activities at Lexis Noosa!
For our students, it’s important to unwind during a week of English learning and our activity programme is the best way to do so. Every week, we do activities together on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to showcase the best of what life in Noosa is like. Our activities range from arts and crafts to watersports and from karaoke to yoga, with a whole load of Aussie culture thrown in there too. Here’s a glimpse of what activities we got up to last week:
The Culinary Academy Barista Course
This week was the final week of The Culinary Academy’s Barista & Customer Service course, where students swap the classroom for the cafe and learn the skills to become awesome baristas. All week we were served up some delicious coffees by our students!
Wednesday’s Activity – Our very own Wildlife Presentation!
Last Wednesday’s activity will stick in the minds of our students for a very long time indeed! We had the pleasure of welcoming Ben, from D’Aguilar Wildlife to school and he brought with him a whole range of Australian wildlife to present to the students. He shared his passion for animals with us and taught us about some of Australia’s best loved inhabitants. We were fortunate enough to meet a blue tongued lizard and a bearded dragon, a 6 ft long python, an echidna and a bilby, a crocodile, a glider and last but not least, a koala! The students listened to Ben’s presentation and learnt about Australia’s wildlife and some of the challenges they face and they were able to interact with each animal too! Coming to Australia, it’s a bucketlist activity to meet a koala and at Lexis Noosa, you can do that in your very own classroom!
Thursday’s Activity – Yoga with Teacher Emily!
After class on Thursday we gathered in the communal area to relax and unwind with a yoga session hosted by our teacher, Emily. She’s an expert at leading a yoga class and she shared her wisdom and experience to help us mellow out after a week of English studies. It always leaves us feeling refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the week!
Friday’s Activity – Volleyball at KB’s Noosa!
The sun was shining on Friday and what better way to kickstart your weekend than with a few games of volleyball on the sand court at KB’s Noosa! We made the short walk over after class on Friday and began with a mini tournament amongst three teams. There was some serious skills on show from our resident volleyball fanatics and it was great to see those who were new to the sport getting stuck in to a favourite Aussie pastime. After a few games and a few beers, we all headed off into the weekend to enjoy the rest of what Noosa has to offer.
