Last week was an Action Packed Week of Fun Activities at Lexis Noosa!
For our students, it’s important to unwind during a week of English learning and our activity programme is the best way to do so. Every week, we do activities together on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to showcase the best of what life in Noosa is like. Our activities range from arts and crafts to watersports and from karaoke to yoga, with a whole load of Aussie culture thrown in there too. Here’s a glimpse of what activities we got up to last week:
Wednesday’s Activity – Picnic by the Noosa River!
Wednesday gifted us another beautiful sunny afternoon and so we made the short trip to Gympie Terrace and the Noosa River, a spot overflowing with cafes, restaurants and bars as well as the beautifully set up pathway with barbecues and gazebos. We snacked on chips, dips and a delicious selection of treats both sweet and savoury and then we headed to the BBQ to cook up some kangaroo meat! It was great for the students to try this uniquely Australian delicacy and the overwhelming reaction was that it was delicious! We laughed the afternoon away playing football, learning how to pass a rugby ball and chucking a frisbee as we made memories that will last a lifetime!
Thursday’s Activity – Paint & Sip!
On Thursday, we stayed at school and got creative as we enjoyed an afternoon of painting and sipping wine. On offer was a delicious Australian Moscato, a jammy South Australian Shiraz and a crisp, clean rosé too. We enjoyed the pleasant afternoon in our courtyard area and let the creativity flow, each student showing their artistic side and letting the paint and wine flow!
Friday’s Activity – Paddleboarding and Kayaking!
On Friday, to bring in the weekend we went on down to see our friends at Boardwalk Boat Hire and took some kayaks and paddleboards out onto the Noosa river! It’s an amazing way to spend an afternoon, soaking up the sun and exploring the inlets of the river. We paddled all the way from Noosa Heads to the bridge into Noosaville and back so it was quite the workout! It’s an awesome experience to share and a great way for the students to get to grips with one of Noosa’s favourite pastimes!
