This week at Lexis Manly, a burst of laughter and creativity filled the air as our students came together to create something special – friendship bracelets! These colorful tokens of affection have been adorning wrists and solidifying bonds for generations, and their charm remains timeless. Whether you’re looking to reconnect with friends, express gratitude, or simply indulge in a creative endeavor, crafting friendship bracelets offers a delightful avenue for self-expression and connection.

🎨 Embracing Creativity:
At Lexis Manly we love to encourage creativity and to cultivate an appreciation for the arts among our students. As our students gathered for the activity, surrounded by spools of vibrant thread and an array of beads and charms, creativity takes center stage. Each student brings their unique vision to life, selecting colours, patterns, and designs that speak to their individuality while celebrating the friendships they hold dear.
🤝 Learning & Collaborating:
Art has a remarkable ability to bring people together, fostering a sense of camaraderie and community among our students. Under the guidance of our teacher Delphine, our students dived into the world of friendship bracelet making, learning basic knots and techniques to bring their designs to fruition. Alongside this hands-on learning experience, our students shared stories, laughter, and moments of camaraderie, strengthening the bonds that unite them.
Our workshop today encouraged collaboration and teamwork, as students shared ideas, offered feedback, and worked together to bring their artistic visions to fruition. By simply sharing tips and techniques with one another, students learn the value of cooperation and mutual support, skills that are essential for success in any endeavour. As the afternoon progressed, the students found moments to engage in lively conversations which was also great practice for their English speaking skills.

As the workshop progresses, students not only craft intricate bracelets but also forge deeper connections with their peers. Through shared experiences, collaborative projects, and the act of giving and receiving handmade bracelets, students strengthen their sense of community and support within the school.
