Welcome to Lexis Brisbane!
Mondays mark the beginning of the week and for us here at Lexis Brisbane, the welcoming of new students joining our family! Today we welcomed 15 new General English students to our beautiful Brisbane campus and we can’t wait to introduce them! Joining us today were Ayuka and Erina from Japan, Aleyna Nur, Umut, and Cagrihan from Turkey, Roman and Elcaterina from Russia, Sean and Ching from Taiwan, Jenny and Yang from South Korea, Pablo from Spain, Cynthia from Peru, Itzel from Mexico, Kay from Thailand, and Romina from Chile. Welcome to Lexis Brisbane everybody!
Even though it is such an exciting experience, being “new” anywhere can be a bit scary. We are here to tell you that there is nothing to be nervous about and soon enough, you will feel yourself becoming an active participant in our Lexis Brisbane community and family! There are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved on campus, with both proactive studying and fun activities!
Each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we organise group activities for all of our students to get involved in, whether it be karaoke, field trips, cocktail-making, arts and crafts, paint and sips, yoga, or even video game competitions. Our Coffee and Conversation Club on Mondays is the perfect mix of learning and fun, allowing our students to practice both their listening and speaking skills whilst enjoying some delicious coffee and the company of friends. On the other hand, we have opportunities for our students to solely focus on their studies outside of class time, such as ‘GIL’; Guided Individual Learning. GIL allows students to receive help on particular topics from one of our fantastic teachers outside of their designated class time. Our weekly activities and study opportunities are organised because we want our students to achieve success and be proactive about their learning whilst having a heap of fun! Here at Lexis Brisbane, we aren’t just a learning institution, we are a family.
For our new students this week, all we can ask of you is that you enjoy each and every minute of your time here at Lexis, and that you are proactive about your learning whilst making connections and having fun! We are very excited to have you and cannot wait to watch you accomplish your English goals and make the most of your Australian experience!
