Baker / Pastry Chef – Organic Sourdough Bakery

Tanglewood Organic Sourdough Bakery is a small artisan bakery based in Noosaville within Belmondos Organic Market. We are a busy wholesale bakery using artisan skills, hard work and the best local produce to stock cafes, restaurants, markets, our own 2 retail bakeries and other shops on the Sunshine Coast.

We are seeking a Baker/Pastry Chef to join our team.

About the role

The right candidate will have a good eye for detail and presentation of product, able to follow systems and procedures. Willing to work autonomously and as part of a team.

● Must have experience in bread and croissant making.

● Must have knowledge of food handling and hygiene.

● Must be willing to start at midnight & weekend shifts.

● Must have good communication skills & work within a team.

● Strict adherence to food safety regulations.

Essential requirements:

● Certificate III in Retail Baking

● A great attitude;

● Proven experience in similar roles;

● Ability to work flexible hours;

● Strong product knowledge, including artisan sourdough, croissants and pastries;

● Proven track record;

● Career minded; and,

● Current Food Safety Certificate.

This position offers an opportunity to work within a fast-growing hospitality business with an emphasis on supporting personal development. The position will initially be on a casual  basis of 4 days. This will be reviewed after 6 months.

Suncoast Fresh is a market leader in the wholesale produce industry. With facilities across Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Byron Bay, our team of over 100 people work together to source, supply and deliver quality produce and service to local, national and international businesses.

We require the services of a unique individual capable of accurate data entry and phone work plus the ability to pick and pack fresh produce orders for the award winning team at Suncoast Fresh located at Coolum, Qld.

We run a 24-7 operation and as such we are looking for candidates that have flexibility to work any night of the week.

This is a Nightshift position and the working hours will be approx. 8pm – 4am. casual can lead to permanent employment.

An ideal applicant should have:

  • Willingness to work nights
  • A love for Fruit and Veg
  • Extensive knowledge of fresh produce
  • High level of speed and accuracy
  • Data Entry and Computer literacy 
  • Be willing and able to perform manual tasks including light lifting and considerable walking
  • Be able to work as part of team or autonomously
  • Enjoy meeting hourly performance deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and skilled in time management
  • Current licence and own transportation

Whilst not essential the position is suited to people with experience in a diverse range of fresh produce.

  • A current, valid, and relevant trade commercial cookery qualification (proof may be required)

Salary will be a base of $65,000
