We’re asking some past staff and students to tell us a bit about what’s happening now in their life after Lexis. This week we interview the lovely teacher Serena!

Where are you now?

I’m in Auckland, New Zealand!

How long did you work at Lexis?

I worked at Lexis on and off for about 1.5 years, between Lexis Byron Bay and Lexis Noosa.

When did you leave, and where did you go?

I left in September 2019 and first went to Thailand for a month. Then I went back to Europe for 3 months to visit my family and finally I moved to New Zealand at the beginning of February 2020.

What was a highlight of working at Lexis English?

There were many highlights to be honest. Both the relationship with my students and my colleagues was excellent, which made my time at Lexis fun and unforgettable.

Your favourite thing about teaching English is…?

Meeting people from all over the world and helping them achieve their goals.

What do you miss about Byron Bay?

I’m not exaggerating when I say I miss everything. My heart is still in Byron!

Tell us about what life’s like now:

Life is obviously quite unusual right now given the unprecedented times. I live in Auckland and work as a nanny. Unfortunately, borders are closed and there aren’t many foreign students in the country, but I’m hoping to go back to teaching soon. New Zealand is a lovely country and I’m looking forward to exploring it once it gets warmer!
