Last Thursday afternoon students escaped the lively streets of Byron Bay to enjoy some peace, quiet and nature at the beautiful Killen’s Falls.

Killen Falls is approximately 30-minutes’ drive southwest of Byron Bay, inland from Lennox Head. Rueben from the Byron Bay Travel Company organised transportation for our students and guided the afternoon tour.

It was a tranquil hike through bushland to the main fall.

There was a viewing platform overlooking the falls.

Students trekked along river stones on the stream’s edge until they arrived at the swimming hole. They could also access the cave behind Killen’s falls.

Students swam beneath the beautiful falls. The water temperature was cool but quickly become more bearable and enjoyable. The water source that creates the waterfall flows out of Emigrant Creek.

Snacks and drinks were provided, and our students enjoyed a scenic picnic by the falls. Our special activities in partnership with the Byron Bay Travel Company are extremely popular with students.
