Our lovely students had a fun afternoon creating colourful boomerangs
The boomerang represents Indigenous Australians +50.000-year link to the country, since they’ve been used for as long as Indigenous nations have thrived on the continent. Today our students learned about the difficult history of Australia and had a chance to get creative. With the support of an indigenous Australian artist our lovely teacher Valentina educated our students before getting creative and painting their own boomerang.
The students got started and created their personal souvenir of their time in Australia. Getting creative can be a great opportunity to relief stress and increase positive emotions. While everyone painted their boomerangs the students chatted away, made new friends and had a chance to practice their English speaking and listening skills. The student’s had so much fun painting that the workshop even got extended – good things take time, great things take a little longer.
We hope this personal souvenir will forever remind you of your time in Australia and the memories you made at Lexis Manly.
Thank you to everyone who joined this colourful activity!
