On Friday for our afternoon activity, the students did chocolate tasting with Kira, the Student Services Coordinator.
There were 6 varieties of chocolate, each with different flavours and made in different countries. The students tasted: Nestle Rolo, Pico Salted Caramel, Whittakers Caramel Blondie, Sunburnt Series Orange, Cadbury Fruit & Nut and Coles Belgian Dark Chocolate.
The students observed the taste, texture, and smell and gave an overall enjoyment rating out of 10 for each chocolate variety.
The students had very different opinions about each chocolate variety. Some of the students preferred the sweeter varieties and the others not so much. We saw some very funny facial expressions at times while trying the chocolate.
A few of the students are vegan and so a couple of vegan chocolate varieties were included also.
Overall, each student had their own favourite, however Australian chocolate is very different to what they’re used to!
