Maxime joins us from Switzerland! He will be staying for around three months and is eager to learn English. He’s also keen to take surf lessons while he’s here. Welcome, Maxime!
Myriam joins us from Switzerland! She is 21 years old and enjoys climbing and reading. She chose to come to Australia to be close to the ocean and enjoy the warm weather. Myriam will stay at Lexis Byron Bay for two months before traveling along the East Coast. She hopes to improve her English skills to enhance her job prospects. Welcome, Myriam!
Kohei joins us from Japan! He is 19 years old and studying geography at university. He already loves Australia and is excited to speak English in his daily life to improve his language skills. Kohei is also eager to learn how to surf, so he chose the perfect spot! Welcome, Kohei!
The day kicked off bright and early with everyone gathering to take their placement tests. This helped us figure out their English levels, making sure they’ll be in the right class to get the most out of their time here.
After the tests, the students joined Rita for an orientation session where she gave them all the information, they need about the school and what’s ahead. They also got to meet Luke from Let’s Go Surfing and Chiara from Dundee. Luke shared some cool tips about the local surf scene, and Chiara talked about weekend trips and activities around Byron Bay. It was a great way to set the tone for an exciting and diverse adventure.
Next, the students joined their new classmates for the last hour of the morning class. It was a great way to ease into things and get a feel for the learning vibe here at Lexis. Then it was lunchtime—the perfect chance to chill out, grab some food, and start making new friends.
In the afternoon, we went on a walk around beautiful Byron Bay. It wasn’t just about checking out the sights—it was also a great way for everyone to chat and get to know each other better. We stopped by the iconic Main Beach to soak in the amazing views, then strolled back through town. Along the way, we discovered some of the cool shops, cafes, and restaurants that make Byron Bay such a special place.
It was a full-on day, but so worth it. The students had a blast and are buzzing with excitement to start their Lexis adventure. This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
