Exploring Sydney’s Stunning Coastlines along the Northern Beaches!

Sydney’s Northern Beaches offers some of the most breathtaking coastal walks, and our Lexis Manly students recently had the chance to experience two of the best: the Shelly Beach Headlands Walk and the Long Reef Headlands Walk at Dee Why. These walks provided not only spectacular views but also great opportunities for students to connect, practice their English, and enjoy Sydney’s natural beauty.
Shelly Beach Headlands Walk with Lexis Manly Students:
Our students set out on a sunny afternoon to explore the scenic Shelly Beach Headlands Walk, a must-do coastal track starting from Manly Beach. As we strolled along the picturesque path, students admired the crystal-clear waters, spotted local wildlife, and took in the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
One of the highlights was reaching the lookout point, where students paused to snap photos and chat about their experiences in Australia. Many were amazed by the unique Australian flora and fauna, spotting ‘Blue Tongue Lizards’ sunbathing on the rocks and even some snorkelers exploring the marine reserve below.
Cambridge Classes Take on the Long Reef Headlands Walk:
Our Cambridge students, known for their dedication to learning, took a break from their studies and explored the beautiful Long Reef Headlands Walk at Dee Why. They gathered for the popular 5km beach walk from Dee Why Lagoon to Long Reef Headland, enjoying the magnificent 360 degree views on a gorgeous summer day.
After their walk it was time to discover a local icon: Upper Crust Pies in Collaroy. Nothing is more Australian than enjoying a meat pie by the beach, so our students were excited to try the famous pies and were not disappointed! The homemade pies are famous along the Northern Beaches and attract pie-lovers from all over Sydney. It is safe to say, this will not have been our students last pie during their time at Lexis Manly!
The Perfect Balance of Learning & Adventure:
At Lexis Manly, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Activities like these not only help students improve their English skills but also allow them to immerse themselves in the Australian way of life, build friendships, and create unforgettable memories.
Whether it’s the gentle walk to Shelly Beach or the more expansive Long Reef trail, Sydney’s coastline provides the perfect backdrop for adventure, exploration, and learning. We can’t wait for the next walk – where will we go next?
Thank you all for making these outings so special!
