Our students recently acquired the skill of tie dyeing socks, learning various patterns such as the bullseye, stripe, and crumple designs.
The tie-dye process is enjoyable and straightforward. We were fortunate to have a gorgeous day to work outdoors. After adding vibrant colours to the socks, we placed them in plastic bags for the curing process, ensuring the brightest and most vibrant hues would emerge.
One important instruction given to the students was to wash the tie-dyed socks separately for the next few washes, prior to including them with their regular laundry. This precautionary step ensures that colours set properly without bleeding onto other garments.
The following week, the students proudly showcased their personalised socks at school. The results were great, and they received numerous compliments on their unique designs.
