Conversation class last week was down at the RSL (Returned and Services League). In Australia, the RSL (or ‘Arrie’ or ‘Rissole’) is known as a place to go for older people who came back from war, or service to the country. They get together and give each other company and take care of one another. It’s called ‘mateship’.
In true mateship spirit, all the students gathered to talk together and practice their language skills, getting to know each other in the process. A few had a bite to eat, including a classic dish, fish n chips. Thanks to Mel for organising!
