Reaching New Heights: An Unforgettable View of Brisbane
On May 7th, our students at Lexis English Brisbane took their English learning to new heights—literally! We visited the iconic Sky Deck at The Star Brisbane, and it was a day to remember. Rising high above the city, The Star is one of Brisbane’s most exciting new landmarks, combining luxury, entertainment, dining, and panoramic views all in one glittering tower.
The Sky Deck sits at the very top of The Star, offering 360-degree views of the Brisbane skyline, the winding Brisbane River, and the stunning mountain ranges in the distance. It’s not just a place for photos (although we took lots of those)—it’s a place to admire the beauty of the city that our students now call home.
From Classrooms to Cityscapes: English in Action
Our Lexis students got the chance to experience the heart of Brisbane in a whole new way. As we walked through Queen’s Wharf and made our way to The Star, conversations flowed in English—directions, descriptions, and even debates over the best view! This kind of real-world experience is what makes studying at Lexis so special.
For many students, it was their first time seeing Brisbane from above, and the reactions were priceless. Some were speechless, others excitedly pointed out their favourite places in the city below. Everyone had their cameras out, capturing selfies, group shots, and the endless blue sky that stretched above us. It wasn’t just a sightseeing trip—it was a moment of inspiration and pride. For our students, it was a reminder of how far they’ve come—both geographically and in their language journey.

The visit to the Sky Deck wasn’t just about views—it was about connection. Students from different countries bonded over shared amazement, took silly group photos, swapped social media handles, and even planned future city adventures together. The afternoon was full of laughter, joy, and those special moments when a school activity turns into a treasured memory.
We talked about architecture, shared our impressions of Brisbane, and of course, practised English the whole time. Our staff joined in too, helping with vocabulary, encouraging conversations, and snapping lots of group photos. Everyone left with wide smiles and a deeper appreciation for the beautiful city we’re all lucky to explore.
