Christmas Activities: Exploring Christmas Markets & Crafts!
As the holiday season approaches, we have been getting into the festive spirit here at Lexis Manly. This year, our students have had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere through a variety of Christmas themed activities.
Our students are a long way from home and a lot of them will be spending their Christmas here in Australia without their families. So at Lexis Manly, we love to do these Christmas activities together to spread the joy & love of the season! Let’s take a look closer of two recent activities: the Christmas Markets held last Friday and today’s Christmas art & crafts workshop.
Christmas Markets: A Global Tradition
Christmas markets are a beloved tradition that date back to the 13th century. These festive markets are a celebration of the holiday season, featuring stalls selling Christmas decorations, gifts, food, and drinks. The markets are often adorned with twinkling lights, Christmas trees, and other festive decorations. Some markets even offer performances, light shows, and various activities, making them a delightful experience for all ages.
Our students ventured to the city of Sydney to check out the markets held at the Rocks and at Martin Place. They all had a lovely time, even though they are used to going to Christmas markets in the snow and not in 30 degree Summer weather!
Christmas Crafts: Creativity & Joy
Following on from the Christmas markets, today’s Christmas arts & crafts workshop provided students with the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities and create their own festive ornament or their own Christmas card. Crafting is a wonderful way to celebrate the season, allowing students to express their creativity and make items to decorate their homes or give as gifts.
