As the students at Lexis Brisbane know, there is always something exciting happening in Brisbane. So, what’s on in Brisbane this weekend? Only one of the biggest events of the year, Riverfire! People from all over our wonderful city will come to watch this spectacular fireworks display. That’s not all, read on to see what is happening around our great city this week.
Riverfire
When: Saturday 3rd of September – 7:05pm
Where: Story Bridge and along the Brisbane River
How much: Free
Marking the start of Brisbane Festival, Riverfire is a 20 minute fireworks display that lights up the Brisbane River. Many of our students have already organised to watch the fireworks from South Bank and Kangaroo Point, which are the best vantage points for the show.
Matildas v Canada 
When: Saturday 3rd of September – 2:45pm
Where: Suncorp Stadium
How much: From $21.00
For the soccer fans, the Matildas are taking on Canada at Suncorp Stadium this weekend. It is the first time in 14 years that these teams have played each other. It is sure to be an awesome game of soccer! This game is definitely an event not to be missed!
Colour in the City
When: Until Friday 9th of September
Where: Brisbane CBD
How much: Free
For a bit of a change in pace, there is the Brisbane City Council’s ‘Colour in the City’ pop-up installation trail. Beat the winter blues by following the trail for some seriously instagrammable photo locations in Brisbane City.
