This week we are welcoming 8 New Starters to our Byron Bay campus.
Jonathan is from France. For six months of the year (winter months) he works in the mountains and for the other 6 months he works at a jet ski operator. He has come to Australia to better his English which he needs for his new job but also for the beach and the sun.
Federico is from Spain. His hobbies include playing football, going to the gym, and riding his motorbike. He works for Ford building cars but it’s very stressful so has come to Australia to change his lifestyle. He will study English at Lexis for the next 16 weeks.
Anna is from Japan. This is her second trip to Australia to learn English. She went to Melbourne for 4 months 2 years ago. Her main goal of this trip is to become more confident in herself so she can communicate better with tourists back home in Japan.
Misake is from Japan. She works as a sales person for a school lunch subcontractor where she gets to visit schools and then her company cooks for all the students. She would like to teach English to children back in Japan which is why she has come to Australia to study English. She also enjoys yoga, running, and walking.
Isabel is from Germany. She studied English back home for many years but has since forgotten a lot. She is here to learn again so that when she travels she can communicate with everyone. She will study at lexis for 3 weeks then return home. Her hobbies are reading, yoga, and travel.
Frieda is from Germany. She was born in Hamburg and lives there with her mother. She works as a paramedic and loves to help other people when they need it. She would love to improve her English skills as she loves to travel and wants to be able to say more than small talk.
Melanie is from Switzerland. She lives with her parents and sister on a farm, where they have a lot of sheep, cats, and a few chickens. Last year she finished her apprenticeship as a draughtswoman and now works in an Architects office. She has come to Lexis to study grammar and speaking and after she finishes here with travel Australia with her boyfriend.
Julia is from Brazil. She lives with her parents in Sao Paulo city. She likes to do yoga and go to the beach. While here in Byron she would like to learn to surf. She studies economics and will finish in 2022. She will stay in Byron until July and then return to Brazil to finish her studies.
