Tell us a little about yourself Cristian:

I’m from Spain and I have been living in Sydney for 8 months before I came to Byron Bay. I’m going to stay here until the end of March. My aim is to improve my English, because I would like to get a higher position in my company.

Why did you choose Byron Bay?

Because everyone told me that it was an amazing place. They say that the environment is amazing. I thought it would be a good choice because it was different to Sydney and I wanted a change.

What were your weaknesses in English before you came to Australia? Tell me more about your teachers and your classes.

I think I had to improve on all my skills! Like speaking, listening and writing – all of this I had to improve!

The teacher here is so nice. I like that we play many games so that when you learn you can enjoy. The people in my class are also very friendly.

What was your favourite activity?

Anything with sports! Like volleyball, ping ping and football. But I have also done the other things like jewellery making and Aussie Food tasting and things like that.

Tell me about your accommodation/ homestay…

I have had very good luck with my home stays. I have had two. One in Suffolk Park and one in Sunrise. My house mum has been lovely. And they love speaking with me. I like staying in Sunrise because it is closer to town.

What are your favourite things to do in Byron?

Go to the beach! And surf! I try to to surf, I’m not that good but I try. It is a good place to practice!

What is your most magical moment in Byron?

I went on a kangaroo camp over the weekend and that was good. We did beach walks and surfed and had a fire. It was one of those good times.
