Byron Bay – Masterchef Mystery Box Challenge – 3 May 2022

On Tuesday afternoon our Intermediate and Upper Intermediate classes came together to compete in a Mystery Box Challenge.

To prepare for the challenge teacher Kathleen led the students in a Kahoot (online) quiz about the language of suggestion e.g. Why don’t we….?

Then the challenge began.

Each team received the same basic food parcel of bread, avocado, capsicum, cucumber, rice paper rolls, soba noodles, cooked rice, iceberg lettuce, tofu, tuna and various condiments.

When time was up, the judging began, and Josie and Kathleen took their tasting and critiquing responsibilities very seriously. They awarded marks for Taste, Presentation, Use of Target Language and Cleanliness.

Team 3 were declared the overall winners. See below for each team’s dishes.

Well done to everyone who participated and, especially to Kathleen, who put the whole activity together.
