Exploring the heart of Sydney with our students at Lexis!

Sydney, a city that never sleeps, is a vibrant hub of culture, adventure, and natural beauty. Recently our students got to see first-hand some of the iconic landmarks of Sydney including the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Botanical Gardens. Exploring these iconic landmarks offers our students a captivating journey through the city’s rich history and stunning architecture.
We all started with taking the ferry ride from Manly Wharf just a 5 minute stroll away from our campus. The ferry ride from Manly offers a spectacular panoramic view of the city skyline, with the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge coming into view as you approach Circular Quay. The fresh sea breeze and the sparkling waters create a sense of tranquility, while the iconic landmarks ahead build anticipation for the arrival in the heart of the city. This ferry ride is not just a mode of transport; it’s an essential part of the Sydney experience, offering a unique perspective on the city’s beauty for our students.
As we walked along Circular Quay we reached our first destination – a secret lookout of the Sydney Harbour. Our students gathered around to explore the stunning exterior, with the iconic landmarks in the background that truly embody the spirit of the city. As we looked out at the view, our students were immediately captivated by the breathtaking sights with the vibrant blue sky and sparkling harbour. The group took time to wander around the outside, snapping photos and appreciating the beauty.
We then ventured into the beautiful Botanical Gardens, a lush oasis nestled in the heart of the city. As we strolled through the meticulously landscaped gardens, our students were surrounded by vibrant flowers, trees, and the sweet scent of nature in bloom. The students enjoyed wandering along the winding pathways, discovering various themed gardens and unique plant species from Australia, including the Ibis – a native Australian bird known for their white feathers and long beaks.
To finish off our city tour we went to a pub that overlooks the harbour called ‘Opera Bar’ which is located just outside of the Sydney Opera House. It was a hot day so the refreshing drinks were a great choice! Through this immersive experience students not only learned about the city’s architecture, art and traditions but also gained insights into the community’s way of life. The city tour sparked curiosity and cultural appreciation, offering a dynamic learning opportunity outside the classroom. It was lovely to see the friendly conservations between everyone and the new friendships formed yesterday. What a fun day that I’m sure our students will look back on with fond memories!

Thank you to our curious students that made this day out in the city a special one!
