Momoka from Japan, shares her experience at Lexis Sydney – Manly. Find out more about her time at our campus!
Every week at Lexis, we welcome new students from around the world, each with their own goals. What brings them together is their shared desire to improve their English and create unforgettable memories in Australia. Today, we’re excited to share Momoka’s experience at Lexis Sydney – Manly! Since starting her General English course in September, she has made great progress, formed wonderful friendships, joined fun activities and excursions, and achieved so much during her time here. Momoka was also a homestay student, living with a wonderful Australian family while studying with us, adding to her incredible experience.
Why did you chose Lexis Manly?
Momoka is 24 years old from Japan, and studied at Lexis Sydney – Manly for 6 months in our General English course. When she first arrived at our campus, Momoka was placed in our Elementary class and last week she graduated with an Upper Intermediate level of English – what an achievement! Momoka shared more with us on why she wanted to study at our campus, here in Sydney: “I choose this school because Sydney is one of the most famous cities in Australia. With the beach right next to the school and easy access to the city, I thought this campus would be a great choice for me.” 
What has been one of your greatest memories while being a student here?
Momoka had an awesome time at our campus and shared with us more on what it so special: “One of my greatest memories is meeting and becoming friends with people from different nationalities and a wide range of ages. During my time here, I met people I wouldn’t have had the chance to meet in Japan, which expanded my world. It was amazing to meet so many people from different countries all around the world.”
What would you say to students thinking about studying here?
We asked Momoka what she would say to students thinking about studying with us and here is what she shared: “Yes, I would definitely recommend Lexis! There are so many fun activities after school and on the weekend, so you can have various experiences such as International Food Day, BBQ’s, Beach Volleyball, Cocktail Making and many more! While being a student here you also have the opportunity to transfer to different Lexis schools around Australia, which allows you to study in different regions and environments.”
What made your homestay experience enjoyable?
Momoka was also a homestay student during her time here, living with a wonderful Australian family while studying with us. We asked Momoka more about homestay experience and what made it so special: “I loved my host family, I had the best experience with my host mother and also my housemates. My host mother was very kind and always prepared delicious meals for me. During my 6 month stay, I was able to meet many different housemates that were also students at Lexis, so I have many great memories of spending quality time with them. For example, going out together on the weekend, shopping & drinking together, and also exploring more of Sydney.”
What do you planned next after your time at Lexis?
Momoka finished her studies with us last week, so we wanted to know what her what her plans are after her time at our campus and in Sydney: “For the moment I will be returning to Japan, however I would love to do another exchange in the future to another country. By using English everyday and hearing many stories from other countries during my time here, I was able to deepen my understanding of different cultures, and really practice my English language skills. Therefore, I would like to experience this more, and really immerse myself in another environment where I can speak English and continue to grow.”
