Our students dressed up and enjoyed a spooky Halloween party on campus!
Our students took a break from their studies to come together for a fun Halloween party on campus. Students from all classes, teachers and even previous students joined the spooky evening. Everyone got creative and put on their best costume to win the best-dressed-competition! Our students turned into pirates, zombies, angels and devils. It was great to see how much fun everyone had over the past week to decorate the campus and pick their looks for the long awaited Halloween party on Friday evening.
After everyone arrived and had a chance to talk to each other it was time to pick the winner of the best-costume-price.
Get ready for our winning costumes, that said, it was hard to choose between all the creative outfits. Here are the results:
4th place: Rinka from Japan, as a dark angel
3rd place: Dorota from Poland, with her dia de los muertos inspired costume
2nd place: Kaho from Japan, as Wednesday
Winner: Finley from Switzerland, as a vampire
We have classes in the morning, afternoon and evening. Our big Lexis parties are a great way to get to know students who study at different times of the day and form new friendships. Our social students jumped straight into it and chatted with classmates as well as students from other classes, it was great to see how open and fun our Lexis Manly family is.
Some classes came together and dressed up as a team, brought along their favourite drinks and enjoyed an evening together. All student’s work hard and while their main goal is to improve their English, we also want to see our students make amazing memories and make friends who they will share this special time in their life with forever. Some classes have already grown so close together, that they decided to come in matching costumes and expand their friends group. Everyone had a blast already, chatting away, having a drink on the balconies ocean views and meeting new people, when we kicked off the party games.
First up: The Toilet paper mummy race.
- Aim of the game: to wrap up your friend with toilet paper. the team that finishes first is the winner!
- How to play this game: One student of each pair spins around the other, turning them into a mummy. The person becoming the mummy can spin to help the team finish first – no hands allowed!
Next up: Vegemite challenge.
- Aim of the game: to spread butter and Vegemite on a slice of toast and give to the blindfolded team partner in front to eat.
- How to play this game: One student sits down and the other stands behind him/her. The student standing is blindfolded and the one sitting down gives instruction to spread some butter and then some Vegemite on a slice of toast. After a reasonable amount being spread on the toast, the person is fed the Aussie creation. Which team finishes the toast first wins!
Thank you to everyone who joined this fun Halloween party, we hope you have a great weekend!
